Lucky Thirteen!
One may be the loneliest number but its lucky when its followed by the three. Yes, Grimmish hit level 13 tonight. I had a rough time of it too. I got stuck behind enemy lines with the supply quest in the Barrens and died three times. I made a stupid mistake and instead of fixing it calmly and patiently, I just kept banging my head against the wall. Eventually, the quest was complete and I put my noob hat back in the closet.
It's true what they say, in case you were wondering, warriors do seem to be very gear dependent. I've taken mining and blacksmithing in hopes that I can craft something decent but I know better. The AH will always offer a better upgrade, than crafting ( at least until high levels ) so it means I'll have to bite the bullet on this one. I have a real dislike for buying gear off the AH. I usually only use the AH to sell items almost never to buy ( crafting mats only )
Grimmish is now parked at the inn in the Barrens ( I survived the chat but didn't buy the T-Shirt ) There I will let him rest as I need to farm 10 Primal Waters with my Frost Mage this weekend and the wife is dragging me out of town for the day tomorrow. She wants to see 10, 000 B.C. Personally I couldn't care less about the movie, but if Mama ain't happy ain't nobody happy. Anyway, I plan on letting Grimmish sit for a few days while I farm and let his rested get up there. Just have to get him to 20 then the experience rewards increase and leveling is faster.
As an end note, I haven't yet decided if I will pause the leveling on him to do a full pvp gear upgrade at level 29. I hate Warsong Gulch but sometimes we have to just take it like a man and do what needs to be done.

Grimmish hits level 9!
Grimmish hit level 8 and then 9 this morning. Played him a little before work again. The server was flooded with low levels because most servers were down but Uldaman was up. Of course, it was as bad as barrens chat ( not looking forward to THAT again ).
I've decided to really take my time on this character and do EVERY solo quest thats offered to me. As I have no hope of raiding due to my work schedule, leveling is all thats left for me, so this seems the best way to get the most I can out of the game. If this doesn't spark my interest in the game again, I may have to find a new game. Spore isn't released until September so who knows what I may do till then. I could conceivably get two - three more level 70's by then.

The Battle for Sun's Reach
The battle itself occurs in several stages and each stage has multiple objectives. To advance these objectives players must complete daily quests around the Isle but because they are dailies each character may only contribute a set amount per day. In this way it takes several hundreds of players days to progress through each stage. You may speak with the quest giver NPC’s to receive an update on your server’s progress towards each objective
Stage 1
Primary Objective: Taking Sun’s Reach Sanctum
- The Sanctum Wards -- Slay Wretched Devourers and Wretched Fiends on the Isle of Quel’Danas’ northwestern beaches and forests. Collect 4 of their [Mana Remnants] and use them on the large, red crystals around the Sun’s Reach Sanctum. When this stage is complete this becomes the daily quest Arm the Wards!
- Erratic Behavior -- Kill the Erratic Sentries that patrol the northwestern beaches and forests near the Wretched. After each dies use the [Attuned Crystal Cores] on its corpse to convert it into an Arcane Sentry to be used by the Shattered Sun Offensive. When this stage is complete this becomes the daily quest Further Conversions.
Secondary Objective: Breaking Into the Sunwell
Archmage Ne’thul is aboard the Night Elf landing ship docked in the harbor. The [Essence of the Immortals] drops from Lady Vashj, Prince Kael’thas Sunstrider, Archimonde, Illidan Stormrage, and any of the preliminary bosses in the Sunwell Plateau.
Stage 2
Primary Objective: Taking Sun’s Reach Armory
- The Battle for the Sun's Reach Armory -- Defeat 6 of any form of demon at the Dawning Square south of Sun’s Reach. Any of the Irespeakers, Unleashed Hellions, or Abyssal Flamewalkers will count for kill credit. You must also plant the Shattered Sun Banner in the corpse of the Emissary of Hate, a large demon that emerges from the portal at the center of the Dawning Square. Anyone may plant the banner on the corpse even if they did not kill the emissary themselves. When this stage is complete this becomes the daily quest The Battle Must Go On.
- Distraction at the Dead Scar -- A basic bombing run mission to bombard the demons inhabiting the Dead Scar. Speak with the Dragonhawk Master Ayren Cloudbreaker to undertake your run. Wrath Enforcers require one hit, Eredar Sorcerers require two, and the strongest demons the Pit Overlords will take three bombs to defeat. If another player has injured one of the demons you may not receive credit for finishing it off. This quest often requires a second bombing run to complete all of the objectives. When this stage is complete this becomes the daily quest The Air Strikes Must Continue.
Secondary Objective: Activating the Portal from Shattrath
- Intercepting the Mana Cells -- Travel to Bashir’s Landing on the northern plateau in Blade’s Edge Mountains. Kill the ethereals there until you find a [Bash’ir Phasing Device]. While under the effects of the device you will become invisible to the normal NPC’s at the landing. During this invisibility you must clear through the Phase Wyrms and collect 10 of the [Smuggled Mana Cells]. After the portal has been erected this becomes the daily quest Maintaining the Sunwell Portal.
The portal only functions one way taking players from Shattrath City to the Isle of Quel’Danas. To return players may use Darnarian’s Scroll of Teleportation rewarded from the daily quest Know Your Ley Lines. Because it is a daily you may only receive one scroll per day so make sure to use it wisely.
Stage 3
Primary Objective: Taking Sun’s Reach Harbor
- Taking the Harbor -- You must slay several different types of Dawnblade Blood Elves. They can be found at the Sun’s Reach Harbor on the east side of Sun’s Reach or in Dawnstar Village west of Sun’s Reach. When this stage is complete this becomes the daily quest Crush the Dawnblade.
- Intercept the Reinforcements -- This quest is composed of two parts. The first is a very basic bombing run on the Blood Elf ships just off the coast of the Isle of Quel’Danas. After setting fire to the ships your dragonhawk will land you on the lead ship. Finish your quest by killing six of the Dawnblade Reservists aboard the ships. When finished interact with the dragonhawk again to receive a flight back to land. After this stage is complete this becomes the daily quest Keeping the Enemy at Bay.
Secondary Objective: Constructing the Anvil
- Making Ready -- Retrieve three [Darkspine Iron Ore] from the Darkspine Ore Chests along the Greengill Coast, the southeastern coastline of the Isle of Quel’Danas. The chests are locked so you will need to first collect three [Darkspine Chest Key] from the male Darkspine Myrmidons on the Coast. After the anvil has been constructed this becomes the daily quest Don’t Stop Now...
Stage 4
Primary Objective: Restocking the Alchemist
- Discovering Your Roots -- The roots you need grow on the Razorthorn Rise, the flying only area northeast of Shattrath between Terokkar Forest, Hellfire Peninsula, and Zangarmarsh. First, kill the Razorthorn Flayers until you find a [Razorthorn Flayer Gland]. Use the gland on a Razorthorn Ravager to mind control it as your pet. Use the ravager’s Expose Razorthorn Root ability near a Razorthorn Dirt Mound to uncover the groundspawn root beneath it. You will need five [Razorthorn Root] in total. After Mar’nah is restocked this becomes the daily quest Rediscovering Your Roots.
Secondary Objective: Building the Memorial
- A Charitable Donation -- For a donation of 10 gold Anchorite Ayuri will reward you with 150 Shattered Sun Offensive reputation. After the memorial has been built you may continue donating gold for reputation for the daily quest Your Continued Support.
Grimmish makes level 7!
I logged onto Grimmish today before work. I played for about twenty minutes and hit level 7. Discovered the Echo isles, then ran to Razor Hill. I need to send him some gold from my main. A 5 gold stake in the character should get him going really well. And as my main is a tailor, making some bags for him would be a good idea as well.

Grimmish is born
Thing is, I've always wanted to play a warrior, but never quite got around to it. I've leveled three other characters to max level. One to 60 Pre-BC, then two to 70 post BC and then there was my alliance mage who got to 65 before I decided I wanted to be an Undead mage. Let me be clear on this: 135 levels as a mage just burns a person out completely.
So, Grimmish was born and reached level 6 in the first session. Not a big deal. Anyone with a little experience could do better. But He is out there.
More will come as I post it.
